FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MAJOR MetalliBash Update:
We are heading into the final leg leading to MetalliBash 2002 on July 13th, and we told you to stay tuned for major announcements. From up our sleeve comes the following:
Lonn Friend, director of US Operations for Sanctuary Publishing, former editor-in-chief of KNAC.COM and former editor-in-chief of RIP magazine, has been confirmed as a guest speaker. Friend's history with Metallica goes back a long way, through personal relationships and journalistic adventures, which he will share with us in great detail. He will be sharing speaker duties with editor-in-chief of So What! (The Metallica Club's in-house publication), Steffan Chirazi. In addition to his editorial duties at So What!, Chirazi has written for Kerrang!, RIP, and BAM magazines. Both Friend and Chirazi have appeared on Metallica's segment on VH-1's Behind the Music, among others too numerous to list. This is something not to miss, especially the question-and-answer period you guests will control!
In addition to Jagermeister®, EMG pickups, Guitar World, Hot Topic, and Free the West Memphis 3 Organization, we are pleased to announce San Francisco Bay Area's KSJO-FM as a sponsor. KSJO was a sponsor of MetalliBash last year and we are happy to have them back again.
The official MetalliBash 2002 laminates are still available in limited number. Laminate purchasers will be enrolled in an exclusive raffle for a rare and special item -- the ninja-star embossed Metallica barstool! And the only way to win one is to purchase a laminate, while supplies last.
In our celebration of all things Metallica, we are pleased to announce that we have two of the major Metallica artists donating one-of-a-kind works. Original art and other precious collectibles will be available from legends Mark DeVito (Cap'ns of Krunch) and Tony Squindo (damage ink).
Although we have limited space, we still have table rentals for vendors, bootleg traders, and Metallica Club local chapters available. Please contact Jim Keller at [email protected] for further information. You can also contact him with any questions regarding the bootleg trading session.
For the complete list of trading rules and event information, please visit our website at www.MetalliBash.com. Stay tuned -- we're not finished with you yet!
