Why Are There So Few Guitar Solos In Music Today?

"Tstm77" wants to know... In the '60s, '70s and '80s, guitarists were known for their solos... nowadays, there are very few quality solos that you hear in rock music. The question is, why is that so? Is it because there just aren't any people that are good enough to pull off a good solo, or have musicians moved away from solos for some artistic reason?
