Well, it was the final night of the Jagermeister sponsored "12 Dollar Riot Your" featuring Matt Zane's Society 1, Primer 55, and Dope. Everyone was exhausted but wanted to end this tour by ripping shit up, which is exactly what they did.
The show started around 7, and Society1 accomplished exactly what they intended to accomplish, which was stirring up the crowd and pissing them off royally. They always put on a great show and tonight was no exception. Singer Matt Zane has become a pro at bobbing, weaving, and dodging glasses of beer and water bottles that are always being hurled in his general direction.
As far as Primer 55 goes, well it's Primer 55 -- and they have never let a crowd down with the craziness and energy they bring to the stage night after night. There are always two or three pits going at once when Primer is on stage. Special props to Preston Nash, who not only drums for Primer, but has been pulling double-duty filling in for Society 1's Dagon, who had to leave the tour due to injury.
After some quick change-outs and technical bullshit, Dope was ready to take the already-rowdy crowd over the edge. The stage has police tape stretched and crossed from one end to the other, and once "Die, MF, Die" kicks into high gear, the tape drops and the show takes off like the space shuttle being launched into space.
Dope spends the hour plus playing shit from both studio releases "Felons and Revolutionaries and Life, as well as the new track "Bitch.” Their set list is solid, and never forget to do crowd favorites such as “Spin Me ‘Round" and “Fuck the Police.” The security had to spend most of the night pushing the barricade back in preventing the insane crown from taking it out completely.
There is certainly nothing cooler than seeing tons of people bouncing in unison shaking the place like a damn earthquake hit. The tour was great and I can tell you, Chicago Heights got ripped a new one that night.
