Guitarist Craig Goldy will be rejoining Dio -- replacing Doug Aldrich -- for their summer tour with Iron Maiden and Motorhead. In other Dio news, their Evil or Divine DVD will be released on July 1st through Eagle Vision. The DVD contains full, unedited concert footage from their Friday the 13th gig last December, an interview with Ronnie James Dio as well as backstage footage from their video “Push” with Jack Black.

Six Feet Under's upcoming release Bringer of Blood will include a free DVD as an added bonus. The DVD will include a 45-minute behind the scenes look at the making of the album including interviews with all the members, footage of the bands rehearsals, and of the band recording! There will also be a 20-minute documentary called Six Feet Underground filmed by Darren Grams. Bringer of Blood will hit streets on September 23rd, 2003 and the band will hit the road just a few weeks before the release date with Metal Blade label mates The Black Dahlia Murder and The Heavils. There will be one more band added to the roster that will play just before SFU and that info will be announced shortly.

Slayer's War at the Warfield DVD has been pushed back for production reasons to July 29th. In the meantime, Slayer has the following Euro gigs lined up:

Armored Saint has reissued Symbol of Salvation through Metal Blade Records. The reissue contains 3 discs: Disc 1 is a fully remastered version of the original record with the added bonus of 2 Quicktime videos for "Reign of Fire" and "Last Train Home." Disc 2 is the entire record in 4-track demo form from 1988 - 1990 and also features Dave Prichard on most of the recordings. Disc 3 is an hour-long interview with Metal Blade records CEO Brian Slagel and the band discussing the events that led up to and the making of the record.

The authorized KISS biography, KISS: Behind the Mask, is slated for release this October. It is a 450-page hardcover edition, and includes comments from such artists as: Joe Perry, Ozzy Osbourne, Pete Townsend, Ted Nugent, Brian May, and Lenny Kravitz.

Morbid Angel are back in the studio recording their next album with original singer/bassist Steve Tucker.

King’s X singer/bassist Doug Pinnick has been collaborating with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament and hope to complete their project sometime this year. In the meantime, King’s X is currently on tour in support of their latest release, Black Like Sunday.

For those in the Chicago area, check out 3 Guys Pickin’ on cable channel 19 for recent live footage of Zakk Wylde, Scorpions, Def Leppard and Whitesnake. There will also be a rebroadcast of an exclusive acoustic performance by Zakk Wylde of “Spoke in the Wheel.”

Rock City Morgue, which features bassist Sean Yseult (ex-White Zombie), will release a 6-song EP on June 10th titled Some Ghouls. The EP will include a cover of the Rolling Stones’ track “Shattered.”

Stone Sour will tape an appearance for MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball along with guest host Rob Zombie, which will air on May 31st at 10PM.

Blind Guardian drummer Thomen Stauch has had recurring problems with nerves in his hand and will be unable to play this summer with the band. Filling in for him in the meantime will be Rhapsody drummer Alex Holzwarth.

The Dave Brockie Experience will release their next album, Songs for the Wrong is set to release on July 15th through Metal Blade Records.

Vader will be releasing an EP in early to late fall 2003 that will contain the import EP Reign Forever World and a new EP with new material. The EP that will contain a full albums worth of material will have a special low list price of $9.98. More information will be available in the coming months.

Circle 2 Circle's debut album, Watching in Silence was recently released on April 28th. C2C is happy to report that this record debuted at #6 on the Eurpoean Metal charts prior to the official release. Look for C2C to perform at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on June 7th – 8th, the Wacken Open Air, Metal Dayz, and the Sziget Festival in Budapest in early August. An extensive fall tour will start sometime in October as C2C will take their powerful live show everywhere and anywhere. Check the band out at www.Circle2Circle.net.

The life of Scotty “Wad” Griffith was lost at the Rhode Island club fire, and shall be memorialized on May 25th at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana. Proceeds from the memorial/benefit will go to his daughter Kacie Lane Griffith. Griffith was a member of Stepchild in the early ‘90s, and they will headline the show, as they have recently reformed with former members. Other bands scheduled to perform are: Hollywood Endings, Monkey Business (Skid Row tribute band) and Blackout (Scorpions tribute band). Tickets are only $10, and can be purchased online at ScottGriffith.org.

Johnny Lokke has released his second CD entitled Wrecking Ball on the Big Riff Records label. The CD features 12 tracks in the Iron Maiden/Halford vein with the following track listing: Wrecking Ball, Human Race, In The End, Down To London, See You Around, Lightning And Fire, Take The World, Fuel, Eyes Of The Gods, War, Burn and Sins Of The World. Johnny Lokke handles guitars, bass and vocals once again, while Scot Goacher returns with a powerful performance on the drums. Stefan Leibing, guitarist for the band Primal Fear also appears on the CD, performing solos on “Human Race” and “Down To London.”

Anthrax will be in Chicago on May 16th and 17th at the House of Blues to film clips for videos to their singles “Safe Home” and “Taking The Music Back.” Actor Keanu Reeves and Sum 41 are scheduled to appear in the “Safe Home” video. Both shows will be recorded in their entirety for future footage.

Dokken will be performing a free show in Tucson, AZ on May 24th at the KLPX Radio Music Festival.

Rob Zombie will produce comedian Chris Hardwick’s first comedy album. "Chris is a severely dangerous and deranged man that has found a way to channel all his rage and pain into balls out hilarious, yet sharp edgy comedy that kicks the ass of his wacky competitors," says Zombie. Hardwick starred in Zombie’s recent horror flick, House of 1000 Corpses.

The Scorpions will perform 2 concerts during the St. Petersburg, Russia’s 300th Anniversary Celebrations. The first show will be on Thursday, May 29th and the second show is Saturday, May 31st.

Soulfly were reunited with their former drummer Joe Nunez at their gig on May 1st in Chicago. Nunez jammed with the band during an extended drum solo.

Jane's Addiction announce bassist Chris Chaney (Porno For Pyros, Methods of Mayhem) to their line-up for this summer’s tour. Jane’s latest studio effort, Hypersonic, is due out on July 22nd through Capitol Records.

Paul Barker's (Ministry) side-project Pink Anvil just released their album Halloween Party through Ipecac Records. Ipecac says, "Paul and Ministry percussion/sax man, Max, create odd and wonderful soundscapes. Fantômas fans should dig it!"
