Doors were unlocked at 6pm so that Radio Vago (a 5-piece band from Los
Angeles) could warm up the audience on Saturday evening with about 7 or
8 songs before the unmistakable sounds of a Guns ‘N Roses tune "You Could Be Mine" blasted through the PA system & then four young ladies in blue jeans & tennis shoes walked on stage...
The Donnas rocked out at 7pm in the House Of Blues inside of Mandalay Bay casino located on The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This was an all-ages show and tickets only cost $15.00 per person. The
band which consists of Donna A. (on vocals), Donna R. (on guitars),
Donna F. (on bass) and drummer Donna C. (on drums) were promoting their Spend The Night album.
It was only a few months since their previous Sin-City appearance when
they played at The Huntridge Theater back in January. I overheard somebody mention the group was ready to embark upon a Japanese tour in 5 days.
It's On The Rocks / Take Me To The Back Seat / You Wanna Get Me High / Hyperactive / All Messed Up / I Don't Care (so there) / Midnite Snack / I Don't Like You Anyway / Not The One / Take It Off / 5 O'Clock In The Morning
Who Invited You / Skintight
This group sounded great, was well received by the devoted crowd, and
really packed a punch. I was very surprised at how much fun this concert was!
The dynamo drummer (Donna C.) was quite animated during the entire show. The energetic guitarist (Donna R.) definitely won the approval of the audience. The charismatic singer (Donna A.) also knew how to work the concert attendees. The orange t-shirt clad bassist squeaked out a joke during one of her quick addresses to the crowd. "How do you tell if Michael Jackson is throwing a slumber party?" ... "There's a bunch of bicycles in his driveway!"
The group played strong & solid rock n roll until almost 9pm. I'm not
real familiar with all of their music, but I'd heard a few cuts prior to attending this concert. I became a fan during the show. These girls really know how to rock, if they return to Las Vegas, then I'll probably go see them again!
