It was a hot summer night in Worcester. A perfect night to enjoy live music at the Lucky Dog in Worcester featuring the LA-based band, Beautiful Creatures.
I have spent many a night playing at the club. It is the perfect venue to see a national band. It has a friendly atmosphere and is very supportive of local bands. Tonight Worcester was in for a special treat, when the club booked Beautiful Creatures to play there. Here is my review of the concert.
Fronted by ex-Bang Tango singer Joe Le Ste, the band hit the stage a little after midnight and rocked the house down. It was a pretty good crowd for a Thursday night in Worcester.
The band played songs from their last album, including "New Orleans" -- a bluesy rock tune and "One AM." The band was very energetic and frontman Joe Le Ste’s stage presence was amazing.
Bassist Kenny Krieuss and drummer Matt Starr were a very tight rhythm
section, never missing a beat. New guitarist Alex Grossi and guitarist Anthony Focx jammed on their version of AC/DC's “Highway To Hell” tune.
The band did a meet and greet after the show. I got to interview Alex Grossi and he told me he is originally from CT and now living in LA. He got the gig with Beautiful Creatures while jamming with the house band at the Cat Club in LA. Billy Sheehan from Mr. Big was playing that night and he jumped up on stage to jam with him, and Joe Le Ste and Anthony Focx were in the audience. They thought he was very good and asked him if he wanted to be in Beautiful Creatures.
The band has a new album coming out on JVC Records later this year. They performed a tune from it called "Are You Ready To
Go.” It was very heavy and reminded me of AC/DC. It
was a great night of live music.
