Suffocation Live at Valentine'

REVIEW BY: Jon Bennett
First off I would like to say Suffocation kicked ass again!! Opening with the always-classic “Thrones of Blood” and ending with “Breeding the Spawn,” a brutal classic in its own. Suffocation played pretty much the same set as they have the past 3 or 4 shows but it was still as killer as the first time.
It's just too bad that kids that don't know what the hell moshing is bother coming to shows like this. I'm sorry, in my last review of Suffocation in Poughkeepsie that I badmouthed kids that pit for Korn and Limp Bizkit. At least those kids aren't trying out for karate or something and trying to kick over your head. As far as I'm concerned moshing is throwing some elbows and fists. If you get elbowed or hit with a fist… hey it's a mosh pit. But when people start kicking at your face, then there is a problem. Music like death and hardcore will not make it anywhere with people that do not know how to have a good time at a concert. That said, Suffocation put on another great show despite these morons.
I don't want people thinking I'm bad mouthing Suffocation but now I see why the metal scene is dying. After being jumped in the mosh pit from behind and my buddy getting kicked in the head from behind as all tough guys do, I see no reason for anyone to go to metal shows anymore. Before you want to call me a pussy, hey, if the mosh pit is what it should be, elbows and fists, not feet to the face or groin, then I'll be the first one back in the mosh pit. ‘Til then, goodbye to the live metal scene. I'll watch it crash and burn like it has been.
Set List: (might be a little out of order)
Thrones of Blood
Effigy of the Forgotten
Infecting the Crypts
Pierced from Within
Suspended in Tribulation
Torn into Enthrallment
Liege of Inveracity
Breeding the Spawn
I just really hope KNAC posts this and maybe knocks some sense into these "kick boxing" morons.
