FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
S.T.U.N. TO JOIN MARILYN MANSON, THEN CHEVELLE, ON U.S. TOUR DATES
First Single, "Annihilation of the Generations," Heads to Radio
Armed with a burgeoning buzz and kudos for their political and social
outspokenness, Geffen Records' white-hot punk band S.T.U.N. will join forces
with Marilyn Manson beginning October 10 for 13 dates, and then spend the
first half of November inciting the crowd for Chevelle. The tour dates are
in support of S.T.U.N.'s debut album Evolution of Energy, which was
released June 24, and has received rave reviews from publications such as
Rolling Stone, Spin, Alternative Press, and the Los Angeles Times.
Coinciding with these tours, the CD's first single, "Annihilation of the
Generations," will be released to radio in the fall. Prior to the Manson
and Chevelle dates, S.T.U.N. will kick off a series of dates with The Used
beginning September 19 (see below for complete itinerary).
S.T.U.N. (vocalist Christiane J, guitarist Neil Spies, bassist Nick S., and
drummer Bobby Alt) recently wrapped the music video for "Annihilation of the
Generations," working with Swedish director Joakim Ahlund (Refused, The
(International) Noise Conspiracy). The "Annihilation of the Generations"
video spotlights S.T.U.N.'s explosive live performance as well as
integrating visuals, concepts and statements to articulate the band's
political and social views.
Rolling Stone and MTV named S.T.U.N. one of the "10 Artists 2 Watch," and
the Los Angeles Times singled out the band's "thunderous, Jane's
Addiction-meets-Rage Against the Machine rhythms, hook-heavy anthems and
unpredictable Sex Pistols-like swagger." Songwriter/lyricist/guitarist Neil
Spies says his anarchy-charged lyrics are intended to incite and unite
toward a revolution of self-determination. Spies acknowledges having been
influenced by the works of political theorist Noam Chomsky and commented,
"We're not pushing opinions on anyone - everyone should question everything,
and make decisions for themselves."
