Supersuckers frontman Eddie Spaghetti steps into the spotlight for his debut solo album and picks up where his band left off with their countrified Must've Been High outing. Backed by a few Suckers, a Fastback, and some other Seattlites, Eddie gets his Hank Williams on and struts and strums his way through 12 rootsy gems.

From Kris Kristofferson's "The Best of All Possible Worlds," to Willie Nelson's "Gotta Get Drunk," to Steve Earle's "I Don't Want To Lose You Yet," Eddie shows that even punk rockers have a heart, and he wears it on his sleeve often on The Sauce. On a stripped down cover of the Suckers own "Sleepy Vampire," Eddie gives Tom Petty a run for his money in the laid back yet hard rockin', easy listenin' yet hard drivin' department. His own "Killer Weed" is

indeed killer, and his wailin' take on Waylon's "Little Ol' Wine Drinker, Me"…like, wails.

Playing acoustic and electric guitars, as well as his specialty, bass, Eddie croons like he's got something to prove: that the Suckers' country leanings ain't just a fluke, and that he ain't just imitating his heroes, he's givin' 'em a run for their money.

Heck, even Eddie's kid, little Eddie Spaghetti Jr., gets in on the action, singin' a fine version of Randy Newman's "Blue Shadows On the Trail" from Three Amigos. Nice.
