Review By: Bryan Weber

Before I start, I want to say that I am aware that Audioslave is not Metal. But they are a kick ass band and I know that there a many people that visit this site that like them.

Now that, that's said and done, let's begin....

I had floor seats and got extremely close to the bands and the Air Canada Centre was full of people rocking out and having a good time.

The opening band was called 30 Seconds To Mars. If you have never heard of this band, it is fronted by actor Jared Leto. You may not know him by name but he has been in many decent films. Fight Club, Urban Legend, Alexander, Panic Room, Girl Interpreted, Requiem Of A Dream, and American Psycho are some that come to mind.

I know what you are thinking. A pretty boy actor turned musician? Can't be good, right? Well, although the songs aren't very good, they did put on a good show for an opener. The sound was a little like Orgy. Yeah, I'm not a fan either but they did play a good set and had much better stage presence then the next band. Seether.

The front man really ruined it for me on this band. He seemed to have the personality of a backed up toilet. As soon as he opened his mouth, the first thing that I thought of was that he must be hung over. His voice was shot and he never looked anywhere but his feet. His hair was always in his face. It didn't seem like he wanted to be there. They just rushed through their set and out of nowhere they play about 30 seconds of Pantera's Walk and then just stopped. The only thing that was half way good was when they played Broken. They did that song the best but I'm sure everyone has gotten sick of that song long a go.

Anyways, on with the show...

Audioslave!

They rocked!

Early in their set, Chris said that they would play a set full of not only Audioslave material but songs from their previous bands. And they did. They played Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine songs. The original versions sounded better but Audioslave can pull them off well too. One highlight was when Chris Cornell had the Rush bobble heads on top of an amp and mentioned that Rush was one of his favourite bands. He played a solo acoustic version of Black Hole Sun which was amazing. Chris Cornell and Tom Morello played the best out of the members but all of them kicked ass. For an encore, they came back with Tom wearing a Toronto Maple Leaf jersey and they played Killing In the Name Of.

Overall, it was everything you would expect at a kick ass rock show and it was nice to be really close to some rock legends.

This was the set list which includes a new song that they have only played once before this show and Chris had to read the lyrics from a paper because the song was just finished being written days a go.
