Rob Zombie On His Horses Again By Newsferatu, Writer Thursday, January 26, 2006 @ 6:17 PM
It was not too long ago that Rob Zombie was ready to give up on music and just focus on his movie career. But then he started jamming with a new group of musicians, and the collaboration rekindled Zombie's musical aspirations. After touring on Ozzfest last summer with the backing band of guitarist John 5, drummer Tommy Clufetos and bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, the group went into the studio and recorded a new opus, Educated Horses.
"We were just very inspired this time," Zombie told MTV.com about the new effort. "It's amazing how different things can be when you work with people who are excited and energetic and just so into it, that they just really inspire you to create things."
Educated Horses will be comprised of 11 tracks, including an acoustic song called "Death of It All," "Seventeen Year Locusts" and the album's first single, "Foxy, Foxy." It is due in stores on March 28. Meanwhile, Zombie and his band are preparing for a U.S. tour with Lacuna Coil and Bullet For My Valentine in support. The six-week tour will run from March 16 in Jacksonville, FL to May 4 in Houston.
"I can't even count the times I said, 'Wow, we're so excited about this upcoming tour!'" said Lacuna frontwoman Cristina Scabbia. "We all know how much Rob influenced the scene and how great his live shows are. We definitely can't wait to share the stage with him and his band. It'll be the perfect occasion for us to present the new songs from Karmacode to the fans. This new album is killer and you won't believe your ears."
Lacuna Coil's Karmacode is set to drop on April 4. Bullet For My Valentine will release The Poison aptly on Valentine's Day.
