Iron Maiden has confirmed the release date of their much-anticipated DVD release Death On The Road for February 21, 2006 through Sanctuary Records. This will initially be available as a limited edition special digipack.
The DVD package contains the full performance of their Dance Of Death Tour in December 2003. Filmed at the Westenfalenhalle Arena, Dortmund the show has been personally edited by founder band member/bassist Steve Harris. The entire contents is as follows:

Iron Maiden is now taking a break following their touring schedule of the past year, having headlining virtually every major festival in Europe including Reading and Leeds in the U.K., and Ozzfest in the U.S. Preparations for the next studio album (their 14th) will begin in February with recording commencing in the Spring of 2006.
As well, keep an eye out for the opportunity to experience Death On The Road during an exclusive Theatrical Premiere Event on its release date - February 21. This is the first time Iron Maiden has been presented on the big screen and in 5.1 Surround Sound. There will be a special introduction from singer Bruce Dickinson as well as videos from Redding that can only been seen in the theater.
ozonekiss - 2/23/2006 10:06:37 AM I got this DVD yesterday - it totally sucks, rock in rio was awesome - this has all kinds of bugs, the fucking dvd's are labeled wrong, the stero dvd disc is actually in 5.1, and the one labeled 5.1 is in pcm/stereo, halfway through the concert it glitches to the "pick a song" menu, there is NO PYRO what the fuck? the set list is fucking lame.

The point I am trying to make is that Iron Maiden was formed by the son of a Danish cobbler named Myron Taiden. When he was 14, Tyron moved to East London with his family where he befriended Steve Harris. Myron was a superb drummer and an adept guitar player. He already had the framework for early versions of Prowler, Transylvania, Phantom Of The Opera and Sanctuary laid out before he met Steve. After the two had been playing in the Taiden family's parlor for about six months, Myron disappeared for almost two weeks. His body was found in the Thames river by local vagrants. Although Steve probably had nothing to do with Myron's death, it is believed in many circles he knows who killed the boy. It is largley accepted that the East London street gang, the Knarsborough Butchers killed Myron for a measley two pounds right in front of Steve. The Butchers emblem on their jackets bared a mascot with an identifiable resemblence to Iron Maiden's long standing mascot, Eddie. This must have made a long lasting impression on Steve as he transformed the obscure character into a popular icon in the world of heavy metal music. Tyron Maiden has given us so much and lies in his lonely grave largley unknown and unappreciated. Bow your heads please and show some respect for this long gone and mostly forgotten son of a Danish cobbler. Up The Myrons.
