magor - 3/13/2006 8:47:29 PM Avengerkillerof, these guys have a few releases and they're all intense. Why is it that bands now have to (at least according to older fans anyway) prove themselves for a longer time than in Purp's, Zep's, or Sab's initial years? Is it just possible that older fans are now jaded?
Avengerkillerof - 3/10/2006 11:23:04 AM Mummyman is right. Time will tell us if Dragonforce have the leg power to keep going and that comes down to songwriting. But right now, compared to the overwhelming majority of what's termed metal now, they're a breath of fresh air.
1944 - 3/10/2006 10:13:13 AM DEATh to those who do not trust the awsome might of dragonforce!
Blobber - 3/9/2006 4:28:54 PM TC, I hope you and your country get taken out by bird flu.
Mummyman - 3/9/2006 12:54:24 PM TangoCharlie- Fast doesn't equal greatness nor does technicality for the sake of technicality make for interesting music and while they may have Maiden & Helloween as influences they are far from being comparable to either.
TangoCharlie - 3/9/2006 10:50:57 AM ...Ha, fallen right into the trap didncha?! Dragonforce are European to the core, influenced by Maiden and Helloween. Tc
Blobber - 3/8/2006 11:02:22 PM TC, Americans are God's chosen. Fuck you and your second or third world wannebe shit.
TangoCharlie - 3/8/2006 1:58:40 PM This band are clssic and f.fast!!!! You American need to pull your heads out and take a listen...
CIVILPSYCHO - 3/7/2006 7:50:25 AM My kids really love the dragonforce toys they get in their happymeals.
magor - 3/6/2006 9:40:26 PM Forgot to add, Dragonforce should add a show for the O.C. and/or Inland Empire areas of L.A. (yes moron, the whole area's grown together and for qite some time). Seems many bands that play the Whiskey in Hollyweird also play Anaheim's the House of Blues, or maybe the Grove, etc. Anyway this would be much closer to where I live, so yes, self interest is involved in me saying this.
magor - 3/6/2006 8:06:22 PM Aaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!! This should be "awesome" to quote L.A. vernacular. Now we're talkin'. Can't miss Iron Maiden or Deep Purple on steroids. Just kidding. Seriously, I love these guys playing: energy with melody, something most bands playing fast can't seem to get right. By the way Blobber got it right when he pointed out the one note vibrato b.s. as just that.
Sure every now and then slow, lazy is interesting, but more often fast energetic is more so. Judging from what I've heard on Dragonforce's website, I'm going to the show at the Whiskey!!!
Blobber - 3/6/2006 6:27:19 PM Steel Dragon?
