Guitarist Magnus Karlsson crafted one of the finest albums in the history of Frontiers Music back in 2005. The Battle was also one of the first "supergroup" pairings by the label, featuring Russell Allen and Jorn Lande. Karlsson went on to craft more albums for ALLEN/LANDE, plus about 50 or so more albums featuring a variety of legendary artists on the Frontiers label.

Magnus has a little all-star project of his own. MAGNUS KARLSSON'S FREE FALL debuted in 2013. The self-titled album featured vocal heavyweights such as Russell Allen, Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR), Tony Harnell (TNT), among others. Karlsson released his follow-up Kingdom of Rock in 2015. The last album under the FREE FALL banner, We Are The Night (2020), was highly regarded and labeled by some as Karlsson's finest hour with the project.

MAGNUS KARLSSON'S FREE FALL is back with their fourth release Hunt The Flame. This time around Karlsson is featuring some of the up-and-coming vocalists on the Frontiers label, including Alexander Strandell (CROWNE), Kristian Fyhr (7TH CRYSTAL), Raphael Mendes (ICON OF SIN), and more. I had the chance to catch up with Magnus Karlsson shortly before the album's release.

Highlights include:

-Discussion of his new album Hunt The Flame
-Mixing up his vocalist selection for the album
-The stories behind the singles
-The vocalist sill on his wish list
-Working on the next ANETTE OLZON solo album
-The future of THE FERRYMEN
-His GINEVRA supergroup
-Resurrecting LAST TRIBE
-The next PRIMAL FEAR album
-And much, much more
