Great White - Station Fire Update - Prosecutors Subpoena Band Members By Newsferatu, Writer Monday, May 22, 2006 @ 9:35 PM
Two members of the rock band Great White have been subpoenaed as witnesses in the criminal case of Michael Derderian, owner of The Station nightclub.
Derderian's trial is scheduled for July 31st in Providence. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter for the deaths of 100 people during the February 20th, 2003 fire started by Great White's pyrotechnics.
More than 30 of those who died were from Massachusetts.
In court papers filed last week, David Filice, Great White's bass player, and Eric Powers, the band's drummer, were named as material witnesses. The filings say the men were familiar with the placement of flammable foam in the club.
It's not clear whether lead singer Jack Russell and guitarist Mark Kendall will be asked to testify.
