REVOLUTION SAINTS was conceived by Frontiers Music President Serafino Perugino, as a vehicle for JOURNEY drummer Deen Castronovo. Perugino knew that Castronovo was not just a talented skins man, but that he also had a remarkable singing voice.

Joining Deen would be two fellow Rock luminaries Jack Blades (NIGHT RANGER) on bass and Doug Aldrich (THE DEAD DAISIES) on guitar. Frontiers Music go-to producer Alessadro Del Vecchio was brought on board to help steer the ship.

REVOLUTION SAINTS released their self-titled debut in 2015 to much fanfare. The supergroup reconvened in 2017 for the release of Light In The Dark, another banger with Melodic Rock fans. The band's third album Rise kept the momentum going in 2020.

A line-up change occurred with the release of 2023's Eagle Flight. Blades and Aldrich were replaced with Jeff Pilson (FOREIGNER) and Joel Hoekstra (WHITESNAKE) respectively. Some fans balked at the change, but with new members in tow, Castronovo and company cut another killer album.

Less than six months later, REVOLUTION SAINTS (MKII) returned with their latest album Against The Winds. The album dropped on February 8, 2024. I had the chance to speak with bassist Jeff Pilson a few days before its release.

Together we discuss the making of Against The Winds, who handled the bulk of the songwriting, the short time period between releases, plans to write collectively in the future, the complexities of trying to play live, how Pilson got the gig, his upcoming album with THE END MACHINE, working with new vocalist Girish Pradhan, his plans after FOREIGNER's final tour, their upcoming tour with STYX and JOHN WAITE, the next BLACK SWAN album, the 40th anniversary of DOKKEN's Tooth And Nail, and much, much more.
