Band Plays Edited Show 8/30

Blabbermouth initially reported, with the help of a report from a reader (see below) that Queensr˙che backing vocalist Pamela Moore — the voice of "Sister Mary" from Queensr˙che's legendary concept album "Operation: Mindcrime" and its sequel, "Operation: Mindcrime II" — came down with a "violent case of food poisoning" and was hospitalized August 30, making it impossible for her to perform at the Saenger Theater in Mobile, Alabama later that evening. As a result, the band was forced to "considerably" edit its performance in Mobile.

Moore has since issued the following statement regarding her condition:

"I'm just getting ready for the show tonight [Aug. 31] in Clearwater. Yesterday was such a nightmare. I was feeling so great in the morning, ate some food in catering, then two or three hours later felt like someone smacked me in the stomach!! Was not a pretty sight, I was so embarrassed and so humiliated!! I was in emergency for eight hours while the band tried to piece a show together for Alabama... I felt so badly. I was pumped with three liters of fluid and anitbiotics and today, I'm keeping down the food but I dont' have a lot of energy... but THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!"

Here is the original report from a Blabbermouth visitor by the name of Kit Ekman:

"I just returned home from the Queensr˙che show at the Saenger Theater in beautiful Mobile, Alabama this evening [August 30]. A few minutes before the show began, Geoff Tate [Queensr˙che singer] came out from behind the curtain to tell us he had some 'bad news,' specifically that Pamela Moore [the voice of 'Sister Mary' from Queensr˙che's legendary concept album 'Operation: Mindcrime' and its sequel, 'Operation: Mindcrime II'] was 'very ill' and that she had been 'hospitalized' earlier today. He did not disclose any more information about her condition, but indicated that this evening's performance would be 'edited' considerably as a result of her absence.

Sure enough, the band cut 'Suite Sister Mary' out of 'Mindcrime' and five songs from 'Mindcrime II' ('Speed of Light', 'Re-Arrange You', 'If I Could Change It All', 'An Intentional Confrontation', and 'All the Promises').

There were a number of technical glitches, missed cues and problems synching up the video to the performances as a result of all these edits, and I think 'Re-Arrange You' was deleted by mistake because Pamela Moore doesn't even sing on that track. For encores, the band treated us to 'Walk in the Shadows', 'Take Hold of the Flame', 'Empire', and 'Jet City Woman', which I suspect is their standard encore, so no extra songs there to make up for the mess.

Anyone planning to attend Queensr˙che gigs in the next few days should be prepared for possible disappointment if Pamela Moore does not recover quickly, as tonight's performance was awfully jumbled and frustrating."
