October Friday The 13th, in Toronto. What better thing to do on this chilly night than see one of the best thrash metal bands ever?

TESTAMENT!

Coming out of Buffalo were there was a very early freak winter storm were a record of two feet of snow fell, the band makes the two hour trek to Toronto.

After a few mediocre local acts, Testament hit the stage at an extremely packed club.

Instantly, Chuck Billy announces that they are back! And with the reunited line-up! Big cheers were made when Chuck Billy names the Testament line-up that featured Alex Skolnick, Greg Christian, Eric Peterson, and Sadus drummer Jon Allen filling in for Louie Clemente.

They open with The Preacher and play many old school songs. Chuck Billy mentions that the band was able to convince Alex to play something off of The Gathering and they tear into 3 Days In Darkness half way into their set.

I had never seen an audience go that wild for a band. With very little security, people were crowd surfing and getting on the small stage and bumping into equipment. At one point, Alex went to the microphone and said “Crowd surfing is okay but please don’t kick the guitars, thank you.” The place was a madhouse as everyone was very exited to be seeing a reunited Testament.

It looked like the band had a lot of fun playing. I think Chuck and Greg had a permanent smile for the entire show.

I'm not sure how accurate this is but from what I remember, their set list looked something like this:

  • The Preacher
  • The New Order
  • The Haunting
  • Electric Crown
  • Practice What You Preach
  • Burnt Offerings
  • Souls Of Black
  • Into The Pit
  • The Legacy
  • Over The Wall
  • 3 Days In Darkness
  • Raging Waters
  • Alone In The Dark
  • Disciples Of The Watch
I took some video that can be seen here.

After the concert, the band and fans went to a bar across the street for an After-party.

An awesome show with one of the most legendary metal bands of all time that have never lost touch with their fans.
