Here's A Look At Two Vegas In-

Back in the day, KNAC owned the proverbial "in-store appearances" at the Tower Records in Anahiem,CA. They hosted a ton of names, from Anthrax to Yngwie. But sadly, the in-stores were getting few and far between. Now they seem to be getting more frequent.
By more frequent, I mean two, back to back. First one was Gene Simmons at the Virgin Mega Store inside the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Gene had a line from hell, but didn't seem to mind. All kinds of things were brought in to be signed. Albums, posters, guitars, dolls and, oh yeah, you could buy a copy of his new book, Kiss And Make-Up. He didn't mind if you didn't buy a book, he would sign anything thrown on the table. He took time to talk and pose for pictures. This guy named Mark, who waited in line for two hours, and was happy that Gene signed all of his stuff with no problems. Gene proved once again that he is a class act.
The second one was the Misfits, at a store called Country Rock ‘N Roll inside the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. Dez Cadena, Jerry Only and Marky Ramone were there pimping their new single. The new single is a split one. It is split with Japanese punk band Balzac. Each band is covering each other’s song. This will be the first release on their new label Misfits Records. They were signing all kinds of crap. Of course, the store was above the casino and the escalator was broke, so the girls in combat boots had a hell of a time walking them. The line moved quickly and wasn't too long. There were ten-year olds with mohawks and thirty-five-year olds with vinyl albums to be signed. All of them were more than happy to talk with fans, take pictures and sign. The store put on Blitzkrieg Bop and Jerry starts busting out with some killer vocals. It was like hanging out in the garage with them. Pretty cool!
