Aerosmith Delay Recording of New Album

Aerosmith won't release a new album by mid-year as planned, according to a post at aeroforceone.com by bassist Tom Hamilton, who wrote, "We've got a busy year coming up. After the European tour...we take a short break and then go back into the studio."

The band currently has European shows lined up through the end of June, as well as a date in Sarnia, Ontario, on July 19th, so a release before the fall seems highly unlikely. Aerosmith originally intended to record last year, but was unable to get that together before embarking on a tour with Motley Crue.

Hamilton added, "We haven't done a new album in a while, and we really feel enthusiastic about showing everybody what's on our musical mind."

Hamilton also took time to thank Aerosmith fans who helped him deal with the aftermath of his throat cancer treatments, which kept him off the road last year.

The bassist was declared cancer-free in November. He wrote, "It feels really good to be up and running and looking forward to going on the road."

Before they head to Europe, Aerosmith will tour South America in April with Velvet Revolver.

I meant: clothes, but cloths sounds about right.

phry - 2/24/2007 4:33:04 AM
Steven tyler also talks about how in the early days, how he used safety pins to hold his stage cloths together...so much for being loaded early on, reduced to being a safty pin seamtress. lol

That was a great night! the power went out in Pioneer Square, so I stole the cab with the Bass Amp head in it and I sold it to a Greener in Pikes Market for $125.00!!!!

MR_Totem - 2/23/2007 3:29:52 PM

thanks phry, that is great

phry - 2/23/2007 11:35:04 AM
ocillotist: No, he had rented them and knew they had to go back, they were about to start a small tour and his current set up was old and subpar compared to the newer amps. He pondered for several days how we could keep them without paying the small fortune necessary to acquire them. Finally, it dawned on him to just basically which the speakers, and the guts, of the amps with the shitty ones. Apparently it worked.

did Page work in a music store or something?

phry - 2/23/2007 8:46:56 AM
And Page did this with what I believe was four to six amps. I feel bad for the sucker that bought the Marshalls that had shit for speakers in them. lol

phry - 2/23/2007 8:39:40 AM
And then Page stole Marshall speakers by swapping them with the speakers of a lesser amp. That my friend, are some of the seedy things that were necessary. btw, it also sounds like the actions of a man that doesn't have a lot of cash to me.

Page had some money early on as he was a session player, but the rest, especially Bohnam had little. One of the reasons it was hard to convince him to join Zep was due to the fact he was finally getting paid some good money with another band. The Stones lived in a fucking hovel...visitors hated setting foot in their shithole. For example, the bath tub was never used and contained snot and other disgusting substances...the bottom of the tub was caked in shit.

Delay? How about just "CALL IT A DAY?"
