Aerosmith Delay Recording of New Album

Aerosmith won't release a new album by mid-year as planned, according to a post at aeroforceone.com by bassist Tom Hamilton, who wrote, "We've got a busy year coming up. After the European tour...we take a short break and then go back into the studio."

The band currently has European shows lined up through the end of June, as well as a date in Sarnia, Ontario, on July 19th, so a release before the fall seems highly unlikely. Aerosmith originally intended to record last year, but was unable to get that together before embarking on a tour with Motley Crue.

Hamilton added, "We haven't done a new album in a while, and we really feel enthusiastic about showing everybody what's on our musical mind."

Hamilton also took time to thank Aerosmith fans who helped him deal with the aftermath of his throat cancer treatments, which kept him off the road last year.

The bassist was declared cancer-free in November. He wrote, "It feels really good to be up and running and looking forward to going on the road."

Before they head to Europe, Aerosmith will tour South America in April with Velvet Revolver.

Delay? How about just "CALL IT A DAY?"

Greatful Dead did the splicing thing as well, among others.

'"you see me crying" took 35 takes..and even then they still had to piece meal the song together from different takes'...every Aero tune was recorded like that from those early. All of Rocks was done the same way. They would measure 5-15 from take one, and splice it with measue 16-23 of take 12. It was common for them to do. Which they admitted to in their Bio.

goin-blind: Dude there are plenty of stories from the early days of the Stones to Zep about how poor most of them were in the early days. Of course they had "help" that is a no brainer. Plus, there are millions of people that work full shit shitty jobs that are still poor. Page and Tyler both stole fucking equipment.

danny dangerous of the zeros said it like this " it's weird on a sunday morning getting up to catch the bus to go to work in front of the rainbow, and your bands name is still on the marquee from the night before" that about sums it up

i would imagine ( like all bands) every dime motley made early on went right back into the band

goin-blind - 2/22/2007 7:54:27 PM
phry..yup you bought the marshall and the jackson, and you were still poor, well then also try buying..the p.a and the lighting, and effects and the pyro ( even flashpots aren't cheap) and your mixing board and your strings and straps and so on and so on...my point is even when motley crue first started they had "help" even with day jobs.

ocillotist: lmao...I can see Homer now lol

was that what it was phry? I knew it was something like that, I do remember Tyler talking about the blue speed that they would keep in the freezer - Homer: "mmmmmmmmmm...blue speed..aaarrrrrggghhhhh"

phry - 2/22/2007 7:01:29 AM
ocillotist: yeah, that was in the Aero Bio, it happened right after they all got back together as the original unit. My understanding is that Tyler heard the tune and wanted to cover it, and Perry told him it was them.

Goin: yeah, Marshalls aren't cheap. But I have one that I bought in my early twenties. It cost alot, along with my Jackson. And I was poor as fuck, I had to save for that thing. And once I obtained it, I was still poor.

I read in the Aerosmith tell-all book that their manager was playing "You See Me Crying" for them and Perry was so high he asked who it was.

phry..ya i heard that quote from nikki, funny thou as he's saying that quote he's turning on his MARSHALL amp ( which aint cheap) and tommy is climbing behind his PEARL drumkit ( again not cheap) and your right phry a band early on arent in it for money per say..they are in it for the DREAM of money, fame and fortune, or as i call it "the life" every musican you can possibly think of has said "ya man i went andd saw so and so at a PACKED show and wanted to be them" or words to that effect, however you never hear anyone say " ya man i went to this dive bar and saw this band that were playin to 2 people and the bartender, and i said i want to be them" money, fame and fortune drive musicans, aint nothin wrong with it, cuz it's only rock n roll bro
