  • Sweden's In Flames are currently in their studio doing pre-production/demos for their upcoming album that will be recorded later this year. The band has been working on new material since early May. The studio is IF Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, same studio as the last time they did pre-production.

  • Since reuniting in January 07’ to perform a benefit concert, Great White has moved forward and hit the studio for their first album in 8 years. "It’s just like old times," states lead singer, Jack Russell. "There’s a bond that forms between people that is very special. I’ve missed my friends." With it being their anniversary year and a new album in tow, Great White is once again ready to rock all summer long. The band will hit the road for summer shows Nation wide to support their new album Back To The Rhythm [Shrapnel Records].

  • Home town boy makes good. Baltimore's Tommy Maxwell comments on his live debut Hellyeah night on tour in Baltimore: "We fucking destroyed. It was fucking great and what blew me away even more was the chemistry on stage. We blew Baltimore a new asshole. They'll be talking about that show for a long time." Presented by Jägermeister Liqueur, Hellyeah's "Fire It Up!" tour continues prior to heading to the UK for the Download Festival at Castle Donington and then joining the Family Values Tour with Korn, Evanescence and Atreyu.

  • Norwegian melodic thrashers Susperia have set a US release date of 19th June 2007 for their new studio album Cut From Stone, through Candlelight Records. The album was released in Europe in April, where it entered the Norwegian National Artist Charts at number 18.

  • Megadeth fans made their feelings about the group’s new CD United Abominations (Roadrunner Records) known last week, buying over 54,000 copies and vaulting the group to #8 on Billboard magazine’s Top 200 Albums chart, their highest debut since 1994’s Youthanasia CD.

  • Morbid Angel are currently working at returned singer David Vincent's private studio on new material that will surface later this year/early 2008. The band and their management are also actively seeking label representation for the anxiously-awaited, as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2003's Heretic. Morbid Angel albums have been released with titles descending in alphabetical order and this trend will likely follow with a title beginning with the letter I. Morbid Angel's current lineup features Vincent, guitarist Trey Azagthoth and drummer Pete Sandoval.

  • Children of Bodom guitarist Alexi Laiho is hitting the studio, and NOT with Children of Bodom. He's joining members of the Finnish band Kylähullut to record a new full length album. They will be in the studio until May 31st. Kylähullut released a new EP, Lisää Persettä Rättipäille, in March.

  • Lars Ulrich (Metallica) and Connie Nielsen became the proud parents of a boy, Bryce Thadeus Ulrich-Nielsen on Monday, May 21st in San Francisco. According to the announcement, "Mother's doing well, Dad's in awe, and brothers Layne, Myles, and Sebastian are psyched!"

  • Sweden's Dark Tranquillity have issued the following update: "Apparently, a minor amount of the limited edition Fiction copies contain a manufacturing error making it impossible to access the screen saver content. The videos play just fine, so it's not the end of the world, but those with a faulty copy can download the material here."
