Meliah Rage has been added to the September 9th show featuring Heaven And Hell, Alice Cooper, Queensryche and Black Label Society at The Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
Some angry Metallica fans have taken their grievance to the BBC. 413 complaints have come in after the band's set was cut short during the Live Earth concert broadcast on the British TV network on July 7. Metallica played 'Sad But True' and 'Nothing Else Matters' before host Jonathan Ross interrupted them to introduce a recording of 'Weather With You' by Crowded House from Live Earth in Sydney.
James Hetfield of Metallica, was apparently questioned by security officials at Luton airport when arriving for the Live Earth gig at Wembley Stadium (Scheduled for 7/7/07). Friends Hetfield's say it was his “Taliban-like beard” that set off security concerns. Hetfield is now free to perform the "Al Gore-fest".
As a member of the American Anti-Slavery Group, the former Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell travelled to Sudan to pay for the release of over 2000 people forced to live in slavery. Afterwards, he organised "freedom parties" where they could celebrate their new-found emancipation.
Monster Magnet's new album, 4 Way Diablo, will be released on November 2nd through SPV Records. According to the official Children of Bodom fan site "Scythes Of Bodom", guitarists Alexi Laiho and Roope Latvala are due to record some instrumental tracks for an upcoming album currently going under the title Guitar Heroes. Ten Finnish guitarists in total will be featured on the album, including Stratovarius axeman Timo Tolkki and Nightwish's Emppu Vuorinen.
In other news, three song titles from the band's forthcoming album have been revealed. They are 'Tie My Rope', which was recorded in May for Bam Margera's Viva La Bands 2 compilation, 'Roundtrip 2 Hell And Back', and 'Pretty For The Devil'. One new song was performed at this year's Tuska Festival in Helsinki but was not introduced as a new track. A March 2008 release for the as-yet-untitled album has been rumoured but nothing has been confirmed.
Symphony X have landed on the following country's album charts with their new CD, Paradise Lost: Sweden - #32, Germany - #50, France - #60, US - #123, UK - #169. As previously reported, the band have been tapped to support Dream Theater on the second leg of their Chaos In Motion European tour.
Motley Crue singer Vince Neil has been named as one of the judges at The 11th Annual Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant. The event will be held in Las Vegas, NV on July 18th. Over 130 Hooters Girls from around the world will be competing for the Miss Hooters International title and over $150,000 in cash and prizes.
