Metallica have issued the following update:

"While we're finishing up the new album, we told the dudes at the record company we thought it might be cool to dust off the old tapes and get all retro with some vinyl re-releases... First up are the first two albums (duh!?), Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning, coming out on April 15 in North America and pretty fucking close to that in the rest of the world.

There will be two versions...one like the original on a single disc spinning at 33 1/3, the other a two disc, 180 gram vinyl, 45 rpm package all in a double gatefold. The music was half speed mastered from the original analog tapes at Mobile Fidelity to bring you audiophile quality.

Both versions will be available in the (Metallica.com) online store and over at Met Club. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Master Of Puppets and ... And Justice For All will obviously be next and should be coming out on vinyl in June."

nice observation kill, you are probably right

10000 days is nothing like other tool albums...no homoerotic crap at all on this disc...( personal fave being rosetta stoned) and analgravy...i know what you mean about the riff that kicks in on jambi...talk about slammin!!!!!! the reason i brought it up to begin with is cause i feel that if cliff had lived i see him and lars playing like danny and justin... its kind of where cliffs playing was going....and you know he wouldnt of allowed lars to do the 4/4 thing.

I lost interest in Tool awhile back. But yes they are great musicians for sure.I just can`t get past the homo-erotic imagery/lyrics Maynard like to incorperate into the band.Definetly one of the best bands to surface in the 1990`s though.I love the lyrics to the song Opiate.Pretty much sums up all TV evangelists.

Tool songs all sound the same. you could mix them all together and make one decent song. FACT.

ocillotist - 3/15/2008 1:22:18 PM
agreed anal, at the Staples they opened with Lost Keys (Blame Hofman) and launched into Rosetta Stoned, what a way to start

analgravy2 - 3/15/2008 1:10:14 PM
TOOL's 10,000 Days is extremely interesting to listen to. Once you can decipher the time signatures, you won't stop banging your head. Jambi is my personal favorite...especially when that heavily distorted guitar solo kicks in...oh my god the hairs on my neck stand up lol.

phrydom - 3/15/2008 12:14:49 PM
...Perfect Circle, too, have some good material.

phrydom - 3/15/2008 12:10:06 PM
killthepuppets: Yeah, Tool really have a great rhythm section, not only in the studio--where talent can be manipulated--but live as well, where it counts,IMO.

scrapmetal - 3/15/2008 10:46:10 AM
Tool indeed is like Queensryche back in the late 80's,head & shoulders above the rest.I personally prefer Perfect Circle but its all good.

killthepuppets - 3/15/2008 10:22:29 AM
Tool's 10000 days is the best album to come out in years...it hasnt left my rotation since it came out.....its heavy as hell and the musicanship is amazing!!!!! danny carey and justin chancellor are THE best rythym section in all of rock hands down!!!! i ugre you all to look into it with a loud and powerful system!!!!!!!! you wont be dissapointed!!

DEATH ANGEL . METAL SLAM DOWN. PERIOD. SPEED VOCALS MELODY EDGE ATTITUDE. What ya got? last post was not tuned down a whole step. its how to play it tuned down a half step. In tuning down a full step intro all im going to say is the part of the neck for the acustic intro. Open/ third fret, eighth fret ,fifth fret. the notes i dont feel like writing. its a fifth cord slid up and a half step pull off. The rest Im not going to tell you the strings , but the notes are not on only one fucking string anyway. bridge is a crazy fast rythm/ de de de g ed d#dca couple times doing the d#dca double the second time around. the verse lik is ede ede edeg played around the seven nine fret and then played open on the D string, although I dig it on the A string..Fatter sounding. not going to tell you the strings of the lead,,but a hint remember the first two notes of the first lead you learned... detroit rock city? well its backwards of that.and the lik in Over the mountain backwards of that and fatter strings./// lead/ eb ef#g a f#g and asecond part b d# ef#g bf#g ba d#d# egd# fast as fire and then again at the 14 fret/same notes. and end bending first string e f# g a bending the high e and b ,everyone knows this lik. ends with d# e f#, f# e/bending the b string.bend the shit out of it. the (e/g bend).oh the chorus E G C A, thats in drop D. remember when we just called tuning down? well are we happy now. Now you tell me the song name. something about waiting for a nurse while being next to something worst. I used to think all songs were about dope. and I grew up and learned they were. remember, You cant hide whats in your eyes its silly to cry, that wont change your life, I think you better get up and fight. //And when they walk out of your life ,Ill see a bluer side of you. FFF!

I`m saying that out of all the metal releases that have come out here recently. The Dethklok album so far is the only one that seems to be getting any "air time" on my stereo.I hate to say it but Brendon Small`s vocals as Nathan Explosion wipes the floor with alot of "serious" metal vocalists. He ain't that shabby of a guitar player either.Plus it never hurts having Gene Hoglan on drums either.

Oclaf - 3/14/2008 9:40:45 PM
deviled eggs, what are you on? MUYA!!!

analgravy2 - 3/14/2008 9:19:16 PM
Fuck yeah Dethklok is the shiite.

huevos666 - 3/14/2008 8:42:26 PM
The most recent metal album that has gotten the most play time in my stereo is not even from a band but a cartoon. The Dethklok release is just too fucking contagious. It is so Spinal Tap it isn't even funny.
