Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler, 60, checked himself into Las Encinas Hospital's rehab clinic in Pasadena, Calif., for treatment of an unspecified substance-abuse problem. The clinic is featured in "Celebrity Rehab," the reality show hosted by Dr. David Drew Pinsky. Reps for Tyler — who is father to Liv Tyler — had no comment.
Cdjapan.co.jp has posted the following information regarding Yngwie Malmsteen's upcoming album: "Advanced Japanese release of the first new full-length album in three years featuring new vocalist and former Judas Priest member Tim "Ripper" Owens (Beyond Fear, Iced Earth). Limited edition features the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (fully compatible with standard CD players) plus bonus DVD featuring interviews with Yngwie Malmsteen discussing the songs on the album and more! Unless otherwise indicated, DVDs are region-2 encoded (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and carry no subtitles.
Armored Saint have postponed their Mexico City concert. "(We) regret to announce the postponement of their upcoming show in Mexico City (on Saturday, May 31st at Circo Volador). As the show was booked on short notice, this caused us to miss advertising deadlines and not have enough time to properly promote the show. The band are intent on coming to Mexico City soon and making their first show there memorable for all. A new date will be posted shortly."
Memphis, Tennesse-based Tora Tora have issued the following update: "Ok, we finally have an official announcement! The original Tora Tora WILL be playing Memphis! Saturday night, June 28, 2008 at Newby's. Advance tickets will be sold. As soon as I have more ticket information, I will be sure to let everyone know. This is the first show that Tora Tora has played together since 1994. Everyone please forward this to your friends. We want everyone to be there!" Tora Tora are also confirmed for Rocklahoma 2008, the annual festival of '80's rock groups which takes place at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma from July 11th - 13th.
Tora Tora's four original members include: Anthony Corder (vocals), Keith Douglas (guitar), Patrick Francis (bass), and John Patterson (drums).
