Carcass performed their first reunion show at the Sweden Rock 2008 in Sölvesborg, Sweden yesterday (June 6th). The band - featuring Bill Steer (vocals, guitars), Jeff Walker (vocals, bass guitar), Michael Amott (guitars; also Arch Enemy) and Daniel Erlandsson (drums; also Arch Enemy) - performed the following songs: Intro Tape, 'Inpropagation', 'Buried Dreams', Intro Tape, 'Corporal Jigsore Quandary', 'Carnal Forge', Intro Tape, 'Incarnate Solvent Abuse', 'No Love Lost', 'Edge Of Darkness', 'This Mortal Coil', 'Embodiment', Intro Tape, 'Reek Of Putrefaction', 'Keep On Rotting', 'Genital Grinder', 'Rotten To The Gore', 'Death Certificate', Intro Tape, 'Exhume To Consume', 'Ruptured In Purulence' (Intro), 'Heartwork', 'Carneous' (Outro).
Sanctity's Zeff Childress (guitars) and Jeremy London (drums) recently announced new members Scott Smith (bass), Zach Jordan (rhythm gutar) and Nate Queen (vocals). The band will do their first show with this new line-up on July 18th at the Orange Peel in their home town of Asheville, NC.
Metal Church have issued the following update: "We have been getting so many emails about tour dates we wanted to give you an update on the plans for this years US dates. Metal Church will only be doing a handful of show later this summer at larger venues to accomodate more of the fans. These shows are currently being booked by Chuck Bernal at Artists Worldwide and will be recorded for our live album. It has been a long time since we have released a live album and this is the perfect opportunity.
We do have a couple special dates that have been confirmed. The first date is August 2 in Mapplewood, MN with Judas Priest. The second date is August 16th in San Juan Puerto Rico at Roberto Clemente Coliseum with Queensrÿche.
We are really looking forward to these shows and we will keep you all posted on the other dates as soon as we know more."
Alaskan metallers 36 Crazyfists have cracked the Billboard charts for the first time in their careers with their new album, The Tide And Its Takers. The band’s first offering on Ferret Music debuted at #155 on the Top 200, as well as #4 on Heat Seekers, #23 on Hard Rock, and #11 on Indie Albums. The Tide And Its Takers marks the highest first-week sales ever for the band.
Alice Cooper will release his new album, Along Came A Spider, on July 29th in North America via Steamhammer/SPV. The album will be available as a regular CD and double-vinyl.
