Press release:

The plague is now unleashed. Wrath, the new release from Epic recording artists Lamb Of God, rocketed onto Billboard’s Top 200 this week at # 2, with an impressive 67,631 copies sold making this the highest-charting album debut and biggest sales week of the band’s career. The band finds themselves smack in the middle of the Top 3, bringing metal back to the top of the charts between mainstream artists Taylor Swift, and The Jonas Brothers. WRATH is the band’s third album on Epic Records and their first with Grammy-winning producer Josh Wilbur.

WRATH’S plague continues its spread overseas, wreaking havoc worldwide with massive chart positions – album debuted at # 1 in Canada, # 8 in Australia, # 14 in Japan, # 25 in the UK and chart debuts in the following markets in which Lamb of God have never charted in previously including; Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany and that’s only the beginning…

In conjunction with the album’s launch, the band’s EscapeThe Plague contest site went live on February 24th at lamb-of-god.com/escapetheplague. As previously announced, the first 100,000 copies of the physical cd contained a coded card insert that enabled 100 fans to win extraordinary prizes, including two coveted trips to see the band play Knebworth Park on August 2.

WRATH was released in four configurations, an LP, a CD, a Deluxe Edition CD with bonus disc - which contains isolated recording parts - , as well as a Super Deluxe version featuring a limited edition box containing an LP, deluxe edition CD and USB drive containing 2 exclusive bonus tracks.

With the success of WRATH, LAMB OF GOD have further cemented their place in heavy metal history. The band has previously had success with 2006’s Grammy-nominated Sacrament. The album debuted at #8 on Billboard, had the biggest first-week sales of any metal album in that year, and earned them a live performance on NBC’s “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” 2004’s Ashes of the Wake climbed to #27 on the Billboard Top 200. The band’s 2005 DVD, Killadelphia, has been certified platinum, and their 2008 DVD, Walk With Me In Hell, shipped gold and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Music Video chart.

The Lamb of God North American WRATH TOUR kicks off April 2nd in Phoenix, AZ with As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom, God Forbid, and Municipal Waste supporting.

I guess you haven't heard Kittie lately cuz if you had you'd know they are making real metal in the tradition of Sabbath, UFO, Scorpions, Pantera and Megadeth and not all this screaming bullshit. Not to mention guitar solos.

LOL Civil,Know what you mean bro, got the same set up going on in the Chev! I get alot of static on the off ramps for some reason? Embarrasing when you have the song cranked, and the radio cuts in over top of what you were listening to!

CemetaryGate - 3/6/2009 3:36:02 PM
The know- it-all assclown Fizzdick once again cant make up his mind.LOG is metal, or not metal?Chart positions dont mean an album is good or not?Wasn't too long ago you were using ChiDems sad chart positions to buttress your "point" that the album sucked.
