From Nashville's NewsChannel5.com:

Law enforcement officials raided a Gibson manufacturing plant in Nashville after allegations the company has been illegally importing endangered wood from West Africa.

Federal agents confiscated items Tuesday afternoon. They raided Gibson's Massman Road plant and its headquarters on Plus Park Drive.

No charges have yet to be filed.

Gibson officials said they're cooperating with Fish and Wildlife agents on the investigation.

They released this statement:
"Gibson is a chain of custody certified buyer who purchases wood from legal suppliers who are to follow all standards . . . Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO sit on the board of the Rainforest Alliance and take the issue of certification very seriously."

I must offer my gratitude to KNAC for deleting all the 'holier than thou know it all scholar bitchTM' Fizzdicks posts, and forcing him to concentrate on music related posts for a change.

Saw a documentary on BB king and his first "guitar" was wire twisted aroun 2 nails on the house he lived in.

Thanks for incorporating me into your schtick.

For years, Blobber was a Les Paul man. Finally, I crossed over to the dark side and went SG and, then, gasp...Stratocaster. Let's face it, Strats are far more versatile. That said, the buest guitar I ever played was a G&L with single coils. Amps? Shit, there's too many of them to give a shit. Anything decent will do. It's the player, not the gear...

CemetaryGate - 11/28/2009 2:29:42 AM
Looks like its tard time in here.LMFAO@Phrygoober.

Phrygoober - 11/27/2009 1:15:39 PM
I hate Les Pauls that's why I twang on SG's, but what do I know I'm a canadian hash/gin jockey. I'm sporting wood just thinking about a grainy mahogany dildo splintering in my rectum.

Phrygiandom - 11/27/2009 12:17:30 PM
I hate the modified Strats like Charvel. Strats aren't the best--single coil and awful tremolos prove this. The material makes a difference. If you built a Les Paul using all maple instead of mahogany it would sound totally different.Kinda like if you made it outta thermocol it would sound waaay different.LTD Vipers rule...I've played em since I was a child. I saw an Eclipse the other week, and damn, it sucked ass. I'm a shitty player anyway, so the suck ass sound isn't a problem. I do like the LOOK of a Strat shape, though, and single-coil give the best clean tones.I know all about guitars, and I can notice a good deal when I see it.

I just noticed a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top listed on e-Bay by a seller I've bought Les Pauls from for very good prices. He wants $3,270.00 for it. It's much more beat up than my Standard. I wouldn't think they would be that much in demand. The html links are too long for this rant so if you want to view them check out http://shop.ebay.com /music_garage /m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25 Ironically, he also has a 2007 GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD GOLD TOP for $1,970.00 that looks just like the one I have when I bought it new for $400. Inflation notwithstanding; it's either the increase in the price of wood...or junk.

Magor-clone, stop stealing my old posts, retard. Get a fucking life.

magor_rides - 11/27/2009 9:34:33 AM
Fizz, I like the Strat-shape, but I'm not a Strat guy, I'm into the Super Strats, so to speak. By that I mean I am more for the modified Strats like Charvel. Strats aren't the best--single coil and shitty tremolos prove this. That is why all the great 80s players were having their Strats modified to the point companies, like Charvel, just started making their own super-Strats for market. I look at the Charvel San Dimas 1-2H (Style 1) with a Seymour Duncan JB and I can't think of a Fender that would come close to it. This thing comes with a Floyd Rose and mini-grovers...you could throw it off of a cliff and it's staying in tune. LOL

I'm becoming a real fan of ESP's lately, since I bought an LTD Viper. I was noodling on an Eclipse the other week, and damn, I'd like to have it. I'm more of a rhythm player anyway, so the darker sound isn't a problem. I do like the LOOK of a Strat shape, though, and single-coil give the best clean tones.

phrydom - 11/27/2009 5:12:27 AM
If you want a great guitar, go to Charvel.com. I plan on getting a San Dimas real soon...and the price is right, for once.

phrydom - 11/27/2009 4:45:06 AM
Les Paul's are a little too dark for me. I like the brighter sounding Strat-shapes. The more wood the darker the sound.

CaptUgLeeKerbel - 11/26/2009 5:28:29 PM
Because you suck an ass talking about President Obama and other non topic related things you jerk.

fizzgig - 11/26/2009 10:57:00 AM
Well now, isn't that wonderful? The whole discussion from the last couple days, gone. Poof! Why?
