VAN HALEN Officially Sign With Interscope By Tokemaster General, Contributor Friday, November 18, 2011 @ 1:10 PM
Despite weeks of rumour and speculation, it is finally official. VAN HALEN has inked a deal with Universal Music Group's Interscope. In the photo below (by Robert Yager), band members Alex Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth are pictured with Interscope chairman Irving Azoff, executive chairman of Live Nation Entertainment and chairman and CEO of the Front Line Management Group, Interscope Geffen A&M vice chairman Steve Berman, and Jim Urie, president and CEO, Universal Music Group Distribution.
Van Halen's new as-yet-untited studio album was mixed and mastered at the end of summer and is due to be released in early 2012. This recording will be the band's first album with vocalist David Lee Roth in more than 25 years, and their first new music as a band in seven years. Van Halen are rounded off by brother Eddie (guitar) and Alex (drums) and Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen. The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Van Halen is expected to make a “special announcement” on November 30 at the Grammy Awards nominations concert, which will air live on CBS from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater.
