MANOWAR IN CLEVELAND, OH
The last time I saw a Manowar show was way back in 1985 when Ross The Boss was on guitar. They were great then, and even better on May 17th at Peabody’s.
The place was so into Manowar it was out of control at times. I stood with my mouth opened in amazement at how great these guys still sound. Their singer sounds better then ever. He nailed every note and his stage presence is outstanding. Karl Logon is the best guitarist since Zakk Wylde and Randy Rhodes. The whole band are brilliant players. Joey Dimaio is still the fastest and best bass player in metal.
They played 2 new songs that were great! Both went down a storm with the people. I know they have huge hit over seas with “Warriors Of The World.” They deserve it -- the song kicks ass. They were so heavy and very tight. It was a blast to see four guys so into their fans & music. A big thumbs up the sound guy who did a killer job. They were so loud but still very clear.
A great gig from start to finish. Hail & Kill.
MANOWAR IN BROOKLYN, NY
It's been over 17 years since Manowar performed in Brooklyn. The venue called L’amore was sold out, with over 1000 metal heads who were there to witness one of the greatest live bands to ever grace a stage. The vibe in the venue was intense. Fans were chanting “Manowar!”
During each opening band, these were very loyal fans who were just there to see The Kings Of Metal. They intro was a tape with Orson Wells saying, “Ladies And Gentlemen, from the United States Of America, all hail Manowar.” The place went nuts as the band charged right into the track “Manowar.”
What caught my eye was how outstanding these guys still look after 20’s. Eric Adams and Joe Dimaio are in their 50's and look better then most bands in the 20's. Also the sound was excellent. This had to be the loudest show I have ever been to. But it was so clear you heard everything played.
Next up was “Blood Of Enemies.” Very heavy stuff and outstanding vocals from Eric
Adams. I must say this man is pretty amazing with his vocal abilities. The whole band are great players. It’s cool to see and hear a band play from the heart. They played a few new tracks that were great.100% Heavy Metal!!
If they hit your town, check them out! Songs played were “Kings Of
Metal,” “Kill With Power” and “Black Wind Fire & Steel.” The best gig in a long time from a true metal band.
