The first song, “When The Cold Wind Blows,” starts off slow and heavy and then quickly picks up the pace after a minute in. Musically and lyrically, it’s a Power Metal song. “When the cold wind blows, frozen hearts will slow, and the nights go on forever. Stories will be told, ghostly tales of old, join our hands and come together.” A great opening track.
Second track, “Death Of Me,” is a mid paced song about old age, told in a humorous way. It sounds very close to Cheap Trick.
Third track, “Different Kind Of Woman,” starts off with Matt Starr on drums and sounds very eighties and right off the Sunset Strip.
Fourth track, “If I Was King,” is another one of my favorite tracks. This song will be stuck in your head after one listen. A great melody and chorus. “If I was a king, I would make a change and I would try to sweep you off your feet and make you queen.”
Fifth track, “Shakedown,” is an eighties sounding hard rock song with a fast lead by Reb Beach which fades out at the end.

Sixth track, “The Fire And The Flame,” is another one of my favorite tracks. A fast paced song that would fit right into a Whitesnake album. Reb Beach has two lead breaks in this song. The middle and the end.
Seventh track, “I’m Ready,” starts off with Reb Beach on one of the slower tracks on the album. This is another song that would fit perfectly on a Whitesnake album. It also has a bit of a Bad Company feel to it. (I’m Ready For Love)
Eighth track, “Paralyzed,” reminds me of Time Machine from Black Sabbath. It’s also my favorite song on the album. This song will stay with you after the first listen. The chorus has a great hook. “I feel so numb, my senses overcome, I think I might be paralyzed. Feel no pain, it’s so hard to explain. I’m just to dumb to realize, I’m paralyzed.” The song fades out at the end. I wish it would’ve gone on for another couple of minutes.
Track nine, “Carry On,” is another fast song with a great lead by Reb Beach with lots of tremolo.
Tenth track, “Battered And Bruised,” starts slow with lots of groove. This song reminds me of Steel Dragon. If you’ve seen the movie Rock Star, you’ll know what I mean. Lots of wah wah pedal from Reb Beach in this song.
Eleventh and final track, “What The Future Holds,” is another groove song that’s mid paced. The chorus, “I’ll cross my heart with silver and I’ll tell you what the future holds.”
This is a solid hard rock album. For fans of traditional and eighties metal and hard rock in general. Recommended.
