This was a Valentine’s Day to remember that is for sure. There was a line in the dining area, a line outside, a line for valet parking and a line for the bathroom. All of this BEFORE the actual doors opened for the show upstairs.

Once again I made sure I had the “Pass the Line” option which made it so much easier to get in before the mad rush. Even with the pass the line option there was still a huge rush as people ran to take a prime spot to see the bands of the night. So many familiar faces and everyone in a great mood, I chose to make a pit stop before taking my spot near the stage. I walked into the ladies room and I find to very lovely young ladies singing at the top of their lungs and might I add they were very good at it. (Later on I find out that one of these young ladies is the lead vocalist for the Texas band DRAYTER) It was time to take on the crowds and the excitement of the room.

DRAYTER, a band full of youngster, who hail from Dallas, Texas were first of the night. They were full of energy and I think if the drummer could have been mobile he would have been moving on stage as much as the other three members. Their music was like HALESTORM meets GREEN DAY and to me that’s an awesome combination! Later I spoke with the bass player and found out that they are all around the age of 16, what a great way to start out a career.

Next in line was STOLEN BABIES. I had only gotten a snapshot of them from the internet and wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised as it was more than just music; it was like a theatrical experience. The lighted skeleton and the metal barrel drum that had lights throughout kept everyone’s attention. Dominique’s accordion was a big difference then the normal guitar sounds that everyone would have expected out of a band. The energy was great, the crowd loved the band and I’m looking forward to their next CD and show!

As the lights came up and the video screens dropped down everyone started making their ways to the bars or the bathrooms and decided to get ready for POP EVIL. I personally had never heard POP EVIL and wasn't sure what to expect. Can I just say HOLY HELL!!! I was so happy to have a band sweep me off my feet! The music was electric and the bass player was all over the stage, he never stopped moving and continuously interacted with the crowd. The vocalist stopped the show for a moment to thank the kids in the balcony area for their support. These boys were in the range of 8-10 and they knew every word to their songs and stood up jamming out to POP EVIL just like they were on stage with the band. They definitely made me a new fan in me that night.

Corey Taylor of STONE SOUR made the night exciting for many of the fans. There was a line of fans at the front barricade that had items they wanted to share with him and he took the time to hold the item and pass it right back to the fan. In fact there was a guy who had a sign that said “Corey be my Valentine – no homo”. It was a strong set and the band interacted with the fans just as much as Corey did.

Overall the night was a great one and there were plenty of couples there sharing their Valentine’s Day with the bands.
