I hadn’t seen SLAUGHTER in a long ass time, nor GREAT WHITE with Terry Ilous at all, so I was not sure what to expect. Did Mark Slaughter still have that signature voice? Is "Rock Me" still going to sound good?

As soon as SLAUGHTER kicked in to set opener "The Wild Life" I knew the answers to both those questions were going to be yes.

The energy of the band continued to escalate with each song, and the roar of the crowd was deafening when the band played such hits as "Burnin’ Bridges", "Spend My Life", "Mad About You", "Eye To Eye" as well as the classics "Fly To The Angels" and "Up All Night". A nice, quick little blistering set did its job getting the crowd riled for GREAT WHITE.

On a side note, the best entertainer on the stage during this set had to be drummer Zoltan Chaney. Certified nut job on the drums. Such a spectacle and never missed a beat. The fun he was having was not only infectious on stage, but resonated out to the audience as well, as dozens of people would often point and clap at something he was doing – he was even hitting cymbals with both his hands and feet.

The mighty GREAT WHITE took the stage with Terry Ilous belting out "Shot In The Dark" and following through with such hits as "Lady Red Light", "House Of Broken Love", "Mista Bone", "Big Goodbye". While the crowd was receptive to the setlist, they were a little bit mellowed after SLAUGHTER. Still, it didn’t stop them from screaming along with "Can’t Shake It", "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and even "Rock Me".

The one downside to the gig might be that it was a casino, so both sets seemed shortened and therefore confined to a Greatest Hits package. Regardless, if that is the only thing to complain about tonight, then that’s not much at all.
