Who are the best hard rock sin
|
I've been giving some thought to Pure Rock singers. Styles have changed over the years, or have they? Some people would say a lot of new singers don't have much dynamic in their delivery. Others would say there is more passion and grit in a lot of new voices. Which ever position you take, surely you can think of 10 great singers, new or old; the ones who either rock you, amaze you, entertain you or drive you nuts. To get you started, here's the list of ten singers, in no particular order, I feel have left an indelible mark on our music, and to me, are arguably the best ever. See if you agree...make your own list!
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) Rob Halford (Halford, Two, Fight, Judas Priest) Ronnie James Dio (Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow) Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) Chris Cornell (Audio Slave, Soundgarden) David Coverdale (Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Coverdale/Page, Tommy Bolin) Ian Gillan (Deep Purple) Bon Scott (AC/DC) Freddie Mercury (Queen) John Bush (Anthrax, Armored Saint) Honorable Mentions: Philip Anselmo (Pantera) Frank Dimino (Angel) Jeff Scott Soto (Humanimal, Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s Rising Force)
