What to say about Michael Devin? Wow. I first saw this guy playing bass at an aftershow gig at NAMM. I thought, ‘What a cool looking dude’ and such a solid bass player. We later ran into him at a local breakfast place along with his gorgeous fiance, the beautiful actress Drea De Matteo (Sons Of Anarchy and The Sopranos). Both were just so laid back and kind, it left a lasting impression on me that he was one of the good one’s out there in the music world.

Growing up in a factory town in Michigan, Devin fell hard early on for bands like ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, AC/DC, SABBATH and PINK FLOYD. His older sister would attend a WHITESNAKE show and bring him back a shirt, which his mother claims he wore out from wearing it so much. Little did he know, he’d be playing with them someday.

Leaving New England for the rockstar dream of L.A., Devin never really had the intent of doing anything other than “rocking a stadium.” This paid off with a tour with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, playing with George Lynch, and a serendipitous audition with David Coverdale himself, which he landed the gig as bass player for WHITESNAKE. Around the same time, he auditioned for JASON BONHAM'S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE, and landed that spot as well.

Devin tells me that WHITESNAKE has a new album soon to be released, and if the two major touring bands, recording and album drop doesn’t keep Devin busy enough, he also has his own project, roughly titled, From The Earth to be released soon.

In addition to everything else that keeps him busy, Devin is also involved as a counselor for Rock ’N’ Roll Fantasy Camp. It is a camp where the public and fans get a chance to experience everything about being a Rock Star, including playing next to some of the biggest names in music. The latest camp Devin participated in included Rob Halford, Richie Faulkner, Ian Hill and Scott Travis of JUDAS PRIEST. The camp counselors are all veterans themselves, and include Rudy Sarzo, Vinnie Appice and of course, Michael Devin. For more info on the camp, please visit: http://www.rockcamp.com/

I ran across a really cute reality web series that his soon-to-be bride is hosting called The Muthuship, which they made an on-the-fly music video for HERE.

And one of the best proposals ever at a WHITESNAKE concert HERE.

A big Thank you to Michael Devin for taking the time to chat with us. Looking forward to all his certain successes!
