BULLETS AND OCTANE are a hard rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout the span of their twenty year career they have released seven albums and an EP. Waking Up Dead is their eighth album release. They are a hip party band that has an unlimited supply of perky Rock And Roll songs.
The high energy Waking Up Dead CD takes off like a rocket. It's in your face with a fast tempo. Jump on board or get left behind. BULLETS AND OCTANE bring bands to mind like THE CLASH and THE SEX PISTOLS with fun songs that get you on your feet; The kind of music you listen to when you are doing something cool like going to a show or getting ready to go out.
Lead singer Gene Louis has a very cool voice that can go soft or heavy. Vocals are particularly catchy on "Fuck You Song". The tight drum beat and Pop Rock aesthetic will make you feel like dancing. Songs like "Burning at Both Wicks" are more radio friendly with a Punk Rock feel. "Hostage" has a easy rhythm with melodic vocals.
There are several tasty guitar riffs on "Heart Attack", another fast paced rocker with catchy on the edge vocals.
Not sure why I have never heard them. They have interesting, well-written songs. Worth a listen.
