Arriving at the venue to find a line halfway down the block on a cold rainy and super windy night in Munich, the real fans standing outside braving the 50 mph wind, you just knew this was going to be a great show.

We missed the first band CHRONOSPHERE due to the long line but made it in time just for FLOTSAM AND JETSAM to hit the stage. FLOTSAM are touring behind their new album The End Of Chaos and opened up with “Prisoner Of Time” and honestly the band has never sounded better. Erik AK on vocals was amazing really took me back to when I first listened to this band in the late 80s. "Desecrator" and "Hammerhead" were up next with Mike Gilbert on lead guitar just shredding. The set came to a close with “No Place For Disgrace”, a song that was played quite a bit on KNAC when it first came out. Check out their new album, definitely worth picking up.

Up Next were DESTRUCTION. As the lights dimmed the unmistakable intro of "Curse The Gods" came on the PA and the band hit the stage like lightning, full German thrash at its finest and they gave the crowd exactly what they wanted. More classics followed like "Release From Agony", "Nailed To The Cross" and of course "Mad Butcher". The highlight was "Life Without Sense" and the show closed with "Bestial Invasion". The sound was perfect and the addition of new second guitarist Damir Eskic really fit well. The pounding rhythm section of Schmier on bass/vocals and Randy Black on drums was tight and clear and original guitarist Mike was on fire and he plays the best riffs in the business! Make sure to catch them on tour in North America with their new album Born to Perish due this summer.

Up last was New Jerseys finest OVERKILL! They did not disappoint, touring behind their new album Wings Of War they opened the show with "Last Man Standing", a great song from the new album and from there they went into "Electric Rattlesnake" and "Hello From The Gutter". The sound was loud and clear and the band was having a good time. Blitz sounded great on vocals and was really into the show. The guitar sound was perfect and DD Verni on bass was in the crowds face all night. They played many songs covering their whole career and ended the night with my personal favorite, "Rotten To The Core".

It was well worth the trip to Munich to see the show and I highly advise catching any of these bands when they hit your area!
