Out in support of their latest album, Warpaint, BUCKCHERRY came through Portland, Oregon on June 11, 2019. On an unseasonably hot night for the Pacific Northwest, the band played in what I can only describe as ‘Human Soup’ conditions with the temperatures in the venue nearing 100 degrees. Despite it, their professionalism shined and the audience held out to the sweaty, hot end. Starting off with NINE INCH NAILS’ "Head Like a Hole", the band played a few off their new release, and of course the popular fan favorites, "Lit Up" and "Crazy Bitch".
Opening the night was local favorite, THE DCs, a Bon Scott era tribute to AC/DC. Kelly LeMieux, bassist for BUCKCHERRY pulled double duty playing with this band. This band is spot on, every time.
Touring with BUCKCHERRY as support was JOYOUS WOLF. Recently signed to Roadrunner Records, these young guys from Southern California are worthy of checking out. Front man, Nick Reese embraces rock and roll like no other. https://placeintime.joyouswolf.com/
Josh Todd sat down with me before the show to chat about BUCKCHERRY, the new release, Warpaint, and the latest video off the release titled "Right Now", which you should check out 'right now' on KNAC.COMHERE.
A big thank you to Josh and the boys. It was beyond cool seeing Francis Ruiz getting to sit BEHIND the drum kit, and Kelly being our Portland rock star hero. For BUCKCHERRY and tour info, please visit: https://buckcherry.com/
