ACCEPT
Too Mean To Die

2021 Nuclear Blast

The first album you’ll need to buy in 2021 will be ACCEPT’s Too Mean To Die, which will be released by Nuclear Blast on January 15th. TMTD is the fifth studio album featuring vocalist Mark Tornillo, and follows suit with the previous four albums as far as songwriting, production and quality goes. The album features founder/guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, along with returning second guitarist Uwe Lulis and drummer Christopher Williams. New bassist Martin Motnik (CODE OF PERFECTION) and third guitarist Philip Shouse (ACE FREHLEY, GENE SIMMONS) complete the lineup.

“Zombie Apocalypse” starts the album off with aggression; this is a solid leading track, with memorable performances from every member. The title track “Too Mean To Die” follows, truly a heavy metal anthem, and features occasional double bass drumming from Christopher, and sweet riffage and gang vocals from the band. “Overnight Sensation” is a highlight track, and will get fists pumping for sure. I love the backing yells in the chorus – that’s classic ACCEPT my friend.

Other standout tracks include:

“The Undertaker”; possibly the heaviest track on the album. (Video on KNAC.COM HERE)
“Sucks To Be You” and “Symphony of Pain”; both of which are fairly hostile.
“Not My Problem”; which rages pretty hard.

Featuring 11 tracks, and a cover that ranks up there with Y&T’s Mean Streak for badassery, TMTD makes this statement: ACCEPT are still here, they are still kicking ass, and they aren’t going away anytime soon. They’re too mean to die! If you’ve enjoyed the previous four albums with Mark on vocals, you’ll like this album. The production and mix were once again done by longtime collaborator Andy Sneap. ACCEPT aren’t reinventing the wheel, but despite lineup changes, the quality standards are still high and this album is yet another winner for the band.

TMTD is available on CD, Cassette, 2-LP Vinyl in eight colors plus as a limited edition deluxe box set containing a CD Digipak, special colored 2-LP with a Pop-Out-Snake, cover patch and a signed autograph by the band, as well as digital on all platforms.
