The band CHEAP TRICK started 48 years ago and is still going strong and is considered one of America’s favorite bands. CHEAP TRICK just released the new album In Another World and this makes their their 20th studio album. The show was at the Arena Theater in Houston and makes it my 15th time to see them and 5th time to capture them. Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen, Daxx Nielsen and Robin Zander, Jr ( filling in for Tom Petersson) came out and showed why America loves them, pumping out one classic after another and the crowd singing along with every song. I am always amazed by the energy and Robin's vocals. One thing about CHEAP TRICK that still amazes me is that they do not do the same song list every night.
They have always decided the day of the show.
This night the song list was:
- "Hello There"
- "Elo Kiddies"
- "Lookout"
- "Hot Love"
- "Borderline"
- "Big Eyes"
- "Ain’t That a Shame"
- "California Man"
- "Need Your Love"
- "Boys & Girls & Rock & Roll"
- "On Top of The World"
- "Baby Loves To Rock"
- "Downed"
- "She’s Tight"
- "The Flame"
- "I Want You To Want Me"
- "Dream Police"
- "Never Had a Lot To Lose"
- "Surrender"
- "Goodnight"
The show is always a lot of energy with Rick changing guitars every song and he has some of the craziest guitars that look like him and the amazing 5-neck Hamer guitar that is his signature model. We missed Tom and hope he is home recovering and gets back on the road soon.
Check out some more photos from the show!
