“I don’t really care about the masses and their opinions… everyone’s got ‘em, and they all stink.”

One band that cannot be left out of the conversation when it comes to discussing Bay Area Thrash is VIO-LENCE. With just three short albums from 1985-1993, VIO-LENCE helped define a sound and creed that lived on in each Thrash band that followed them. Let The World Burn is the first new material released by the band in almost 30 years. This EP is intense to say the least. I had the chance to catch up with vocalist Sean Killian shortly after its release.
Highlights include:
What brought VIO-LENCE back together
How they recruited their new band members
Discussion of the new EP
Extensive touring plans
Why Phil Demmel won’t be at all of the stops
What their plan is for those dates
Another EP on the way
Lyrical content of “Torture Tactics” not as controversial today
Has the Thash (and Punk) message changed since the 70s & 80s
