Scottish Hard Rock act NAZARETH are entering their 54th year of existence, and there are no signs of the band slowing down. Their 25th studio album Surviving The Law was released on April 15, 2022, and has many saying it’s one of their best. I have to agree.
With the addition of Carl Sentance in 2018, replacing longtime vocalist Dan McCafferty for health reasons, NAZARETH have been rejuvenated and continue to deliver a little of the ‘hair of the dog’ that bit you back in the 70s & 80s. I had the chance to speak with NAZARETH founder and bassist, Pete Agnew shortly after the new album’s release.
Highlights include:
-Discussion on the new album
-Inspiration behind the album’s title
-How each member contributes songs
-Pete’s whiskey of choice (when he drank)
-NAZARETH’s record deal with Frontiers Music
-How they found singer Carl Sentence
-2022 Touring plans
-Memories of recording Razamanaz (1972)
-50th Anniversary plans for the album
-Pete’s sons following in his footsteps
-Why they keep writing new music
-And much, much more
