With the release of Renegades in 2020, Steve Riley & Kelly Nickels proved to rock fans that there is a place for two versions of L.A. GUNS. Renegades delivered a shot of nostalgia while giving a glimpse into the future. All of the down-and-dirty riffs of the Sunset Strip were there, as well as the spirit of ‘70s punk angst and rebellion.
RILEY’S L.A. GUNS are on the verge of dropping their sophomore effort The Dark Horse, through Golden Robot Records. In the months leading into the album’s release, the band is offering 3 promotional singles, each with their own vinyl bundle that pairs up with the full LP. I had the chance to speak with drummer STEVE RILEY ahead of the release of the second single “Rewind”, and he is unquestionably excited for you to hear The Dark Horse.
Highlights include:
-Discussion of latest album The Dark Horse
-Special vinyl bundles for each single release
-Release date for the album
-Recording in person vs. File sharing
-Why Rock music will never die
-2023 Touring plans
-Memories of his time in W.A.S.P.
-Riley’s acting gig in Blackstock Boneyard (2021)
-The difference between his L.A. GUNS & Tracii’s
-And much, much more
