After 40+ years and 20 studio albums, is there anything that can slow down the thunderous Heavy Metal fervor of OVERKILL? Sure, a band known for their rigorous touring schedule was sidelined for a year or two, with the rest of us, but that didn’t mean they stopped working.
Scorched is the latest opus by New Jersey’s OVERKILL, and it was crafted and refined over the span of those two years. On April 14, 2023 the masses will be able to witness the album’s highly focused tenacity, ferocity, and grit. I had the chance to speak with frontman Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth ahead of the album’s release.
Highlights include:
-Discussion of new album Scorched
-Album release delays
-Recording remotely for the 1st time
-Stories behind the singles
-Filming their latest music video
-Album artwork of Travis Smith
-Longboxes & cassette formats
-Signing with Nuclear Blast
-Upcoming European Tour with HEATHEN & EXHORDER
-Is retirement on the horizon?
-Crazy rockstar behavior
-How Bobby got the “Blitz” nickname
-The future of BPMD
-And much, much more
