The Wretched; The Ruinous is the 8th studio album by Metalcore mainstays UNEARTH. Musically, the album runs the gambit of Heavy Metal styles and influences propelled by the riffs of guitarist Buz McGrath. From a lyrical aspect, this is a concept album. Frontman Trevor Phipps expresses his belief that the current climate crisis will lead to the demise of mankind if we don't start changing our ways.
The Wretched; The Ruinous sees the addition of guitarist Peter Layman and the return of drummer Mike Justain. UNEARTH recently wrapped up their 2023 Album Release Tour here in the US, and are gearing up to take on the European festival circuit this summer. I had the chance to speak with Trevor Phipps after his soundcheck in Philadelphia, PA.
