It has been 33 years since HEAVENS EDGE released their self-titled debut. The album produced two singles, "Skin to Skin", and "Find Another Way", that were heard frequently on the radio and MTV back in 1990. As with a lot of the bands from that era, changing music tastes and a lack of label support eventually led to disbandment of HEAVENS EDGE.
Over the ensuing years, members of HEAVENS EDGE pursued various other music ventures. They even released a collection of demos and rarities that were left off their debut or meant for their sophomore release around 1999. Occasionally HEAVENS EDGE would get together for a benefit show or appearance.
The Philadelphia rockers officially reunited in 2013 as a live performance entity, with no real plans to write music for a new album. In 2019, HEAVENS EDGE bassist G.G. Guidotti lost his battle with lung cancer. Initially, the band wanted to close up shop for good, until those around them convinced them otherwise.
May 12, 2023 saw the release of Get It Right, the band's proper follow-up to their 1990 debut. I had the chance to speak with frontman Mark Evans ahead of the album's release to find out more about HEAVENS EDGE.
