In some circles, ICARUS WITCH are considered the architects of the New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal. It's hard to argue with that assessment listening to their 20 year body of work. If you grew up as a Metal fan in the '70s and '80s, then you know what sound I am talking about.

On October 27, 2023, ICARUS WITCH released their sixth full-length studio album No Devil Lived On (7th overall) through Cleopatra Records. It follows their highly regarded 2018 release Goodbye Cruel World. This time around, the Pennsylvania foursome deliver their first concept album, inspired by the book Aradia or The Gospel of The Witches (1899) by Charles Godfrey Leland.

I had the chance to speak with ICARUS WITCH bassist and founder Jason Myers for an in-depth discussion about the music and concept behind No Devil Lived On. Myers also discusses the band's formation and influences, their coast to coast recording process, vocalist Andrew D'Cagna's recruitment in 2018, signing with Cleopatra Records, Myers' practice of the Cabot Tradition of Witchcraft, and much, much more.
