Saints Will Conquer: An Exclusive Interview With JOEY VERA Of ARMORED SAINT By George Dionne, Podcaster Friday, March 15, 2024 @ 8:46 AM
Progressive Metal linchpins QUEENSRYCHE are set to kick off The Origins Tour at the Hell's Heroes Festival in Houston, TX on March 22, 2024. The North American trek will feature the Seattle Progressive Metal act performing their 1983 EP and 1984 album The Warning in their entirety for the first time ever.
Los Angeles Heavy Metal stalwarts ARMORED SAINT are joining the tour as support beginning on March 27, 2024 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. In addition to their opening slots with QUEENSRYCHE, ARMORED SAINT have scheduled a run of headlining shows along the way.
At the tour's conclusion, ARMORED SAINT heads overseas for a series of headlining shows and festival appearances. All of the ARMORED SAINT shows will be in support of their most recent studio release Punching The Sky (2020).
I had the chance to catch up with bassist Joey Vera ahead of their extensive World tour. Vera discusses the band's long relationship with QUEENSRYCHE, what to expect in the ARMORED SAINT setlist, how members initially resisted but now embrace VIP experiences, their recent appearance on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, whether fans can expect new music, what other album in their catalog could Vera see the band playing in full, whether we have heard the last of FATES WARNING with everyone doing other projects, and much, much more.
