Triumphant: An Exclusive Interview With RIK EMMETT By George Dionne, Podcaster Monday, April 1, 2024 @ 10:27 AM
Emmett returned with his sophomore album Ipso Facto in 1992, where he explored themes of grace, faith, and hope. 1995 saw the release of Rick's less commercial third album The Spiral Notebook. Emmett has gone on to release over 20 solo efforts and collaborations since 1990, always exploring new sounds, styles, and genres.
After gaining possession of the masters of his early solo albums, Rik Emmett teamed up with Music In Motion Ent (Canada) and Deko Entertainment (US) to release Diamonds: The Best Of The Hard Rock Years 1990-1995 on March 1, 2024.
The compilation features 11 songs, and 2 unheard demos from the above named albums, remastered with the most up-to-date technology at Iguana Studios in Toronto, ON. The signed Deluxe Edition of 400 features a CD, marble space effect LP, handwritten lyrics, unseen images, guitar picks from each album, and much more.
I had the chance to catch up with Rik Emmett to find out more about Diamonds: The Hard Rock Years 1990-1995. Emmett also discusses making the jump from TRIUMPH to solo, the process of putting the compilation together, the case of the lost handwritten lyrics, deciding what to include for music, Emmett's upcoming book, angry fans, and much, much more.
