Though technically founded in 2006, SOUND&SHAPE frontman Ryan Caudle designates the band's 2022 album Disaster Medicine as their official debut album. While Caulde had been there since the very beginning, it was his pairing with drummer Ben Proctor and bassist Pat Lowery that launched this Progressive Rock power trio into an entirely new stratosphere. May 24, 2024 saw the release of SOUND&SHAPE's sophomore album Pillars Of Creation.
I had the chance to catch up with frontman Ryan Caudle on a break from their current tour with KING'S X. Together we discuss the band's latest album Pillars Of Creation, the stories behind the singles, what inspired the album's title, working with producer "Greasy" Wil Anspach (METALLICA, MUSE), securing album cover artist Gareth Halliday, touring with KING'S X, collaborating with The Black Abbey Brewing Company, future touring plans, the group's humble beginnings, origins of the band's name, and much, much more.
